SiteLens

1. Service provider

2. Acceptance and eligibility

By using SiteLens, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm that you may accept these Terms on its behalf. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms. A minor may use SiteLens only with permission and supervision required by applicable law.

3. What SiteLens provides

SiteLens automatically retrieves publicly available web pages and technical records, then produces an informational report about SEO, performance, security, accessibility and related technical signals. The current service is provided without charge and without user accounts.

Checks are snapshots taken at a particular time. Results can change, be incomplete or be affected by geolocation, caching, bot protection, network conditions and third-party API availability.

Results are private by default. If you choose “Create public link”, you ask SiteLens to store the report and make it available at a permanent public URL that may be indexed by search engines when it meets quality and freshness requirements. Publication does not prove ownership of, endorsement by or affiliation with the audited website.

Project support is entirely voluntary. A contribution does not purchase a service, feature, priority, certification or other benefit, and SiteLens remains available on the same terms without payment. SiteLens is not represented as a charitable organisation and contributions are not represented as tax-deductible. Cryptocurrency transfers are normally irreversible; the contributor is responsible for verifying the destination address, asset and network before confirming.

4. Your responsibilities

  • Submit only public URLs that you are entitled to test and do not attempt to bypass authentication, access controls, paywalls or technical restrictions.
  • Do not place passwords, API keys, session tokens or sensitive personal data in a submitted URL.
  • Verify important findings independently before making business, security, legal or financial decisions.
  • Respect the audited website’s rights, robots policies and applicable law. A public URL does not automatically grant every form of reuse.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use SiteLens to:

  • attack, overload, disrupt, probe or gain unauthorised access to any system;
  • scan private, local, internal or link-local network resources, or attempt to circumvent SiteLens request validation;
  • submit unlawful, harmful or deceptive requests, or infringe privacy, intellectual property or other rights;
  • automate requests at a rate that impairs the service or evades reasonable limits;
  • reverse engineer the service except where applicable law expressly permits it.

We may rate-limit, reject or block requests when reasonably necessary to protect users, audited sites or the service.

6. Third-party data and services

Some results come from public DNS and RDAP records or third-party providers such as Cloudflare, The Green Web Foundation, Google services, HackerTarget and ipwho.is. Their availability, accuracy and terms are outside our control. Reverse-IP results and inferred related domains are estimates and may include unrelated websites on shared hosting or a CDN. IP country and city are approximate and may reflect a CDN or hosting location rather than the website owner.

Links to third-party websites do not imply endorsement. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that provider’s terms.

7. No professional advice

Reports are automated informational output, not a penetration test, compliance certification, accessibility certification, legal opinion or guarantee of search ranking, traffic, security or revenue. “Passed” means only that a particular automated check did not detect the tested issue.

For high-risk decisions, use qualified SEO, security, accessibility, legal or other professionals as appropriate.

8. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue all or part of SiteLens, introduce reasonable limits or modify integrations. We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, a response time, retention of reports or continued availability of any particular check.

Private results are temporarily cached and local history is browser-based. Opt-in public reports may remain available, but their retention, indexing or continued URL availability is not guaranteed. You are responsible for saving any result you need.

9. Intellectual property

SiteLens software, branding, interface and original content are owned by the provider or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. These Terms grant only a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the service as intended.

You may place the unmodified SiteLens badge on a website using the embed code provided by the service. The badge is a promotional link to SiteLens; it is not a security certificate, endorsement, warranty or confirmation that a website passed an audit. You must not use it in a misleading context or imply an approval that SiteLens has not expressly given.

You retain any rights you have in URLs or content you lawfully submit. You grant the provider the limited right to fetch and process that public material solely to deliver, secure and improve the requested service. Third-party content remains the property of its respective owner.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SiteLens is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that reports are complete, current, accurate, suitable for a particular purpose or free of false positives and false negatives.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory rights available to consumers.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the provider is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost traffic, lost data, reputational harm or decisions made in reliance on an automated report. The provider is not responsible for outages or inaccurate data caused by audited websites, networks or third-party services.

These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence or harm to life or health where applicable.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using SiteLens at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when you breach these Terms, create security or legal risk, or materially disrupt the service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination remain in effect.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Estonian law, without depriving a consumer of mandatory protections of the law of their habitual residence. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear disputes.

Please contact the provider first so we can try to resolve a complaint. If you are an eligible consumer and no agreement is reached, you may contact the Estonian Consumer Disputes Committee or the competent consumer body in your country.

14. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms to reflect service, legal or security changes. The current version and effective date will be published here. Continued use after an update means the new Terms apply to later use, subject to mandatory law.

Questions about these Terms can be sent to the support address in section 1.
